About the Item

Pair of brass wall sconces in the Baroque style Continental, early 20th Century Height 67cm, width 42cm, depth 91cm The sconces in this pair, which are crafted from moulded brass, are designed in the Baroque style. Each sconce features an S-scroll bracket moulded with rosettes and acanthus leaves. The bracket supports a domed drip tray below a candle holder, and the bracket is supported by a crest-shaped wall mount moulded with further foliate detailing.

Pair of gilt bronze Baroque style wall appliques French, late 19th Century Height 68cm, width 39cm, depth 17cm The appliques in this superb pair of works are wrought from gilt bronze in the Baroque style and feature mirrors and lights. Each piece features a cartouche shaped frame, richly moulded with a host of Baroque style detailing, including putti, acanthus leaves, and scrolling forms. Each applique is centred with a similarly shaped mirror, and each is adorned below with twin gilt bronze light branches, with each branch modelled in an ornately scrolling and foliate manner.
