Pair of Stilux Milano Mid-Century Modernist Articulated Wall Lights, Italy 1950s

About the Item

For sale a stylish and very rare pair of Mid-Century Modernist Stilux Milano small articulated wall spot lights/sconces, produced in Italy, circa 1950s. Each light consists of a matt black metal shade, with matt white on the inside, mounted on a conical shaped, brass effect metal arm and mount. The lights are in good vintage condition with some minor marks and wear to the shade and some age related patina to the brass ball joints commensurate with 60+ years of age and use. The only issues of note are some scratches to the gold parts and loss to the coating on one of the screw apertures on the wall mounts (see photos). Both lights carry their original "Stilux - Milano, Made in Italy" manufacturer's label and have their original backplates with individually mounted on/off switches. Founded in Milan in the mid-20th century, Stilux was a leading Italian Modernist lighting design company, renowned for its innovation and stylish designs. From their iconic chandeliers to their wall sconces and floor lamps, Stilux was able to create pieces that were both stylish, modern and functional. Stilux is known for its unique designs and its ability to create lighting products that were both modern and timeless. Today Stilux milano lighting is highly sought after by collectors and designers alike and their pieces are often seen in iconic mid-century homes and businesses.
