"Selene is a circular wall lamp aiming to create a memorable light experience.
The object's main form is defined by a reworked aluminium ring, initially salvaged from metal-recycling containers.
The light is diffused through the semi transparent felt sheet creating a subtle and calming glow in the ambience. Selene is crafted in small batches per demand and is purposed for use in private or public spaces."
Studio Lampent is a Sweden based lighting design and artistic studio, founded and driven by Stavros Kotsakis since 2011.
The name Lampent is the conjunction of the words lamp and lambent and describes our main goal: to create lighting products with a playful radiance.
With the purpose to explore the endless adventures of light while interacting with fascinating materials, we are dedicated in designing series of exclusive handcrafted luminaires which add a genuine warmth to a wide range of interiors. Putting light into the center point of the development process allows the creative journey from form to function to happen. Becoming itself part of symmetrical structures or transformed objects, light is being naturally turned into a basic element for geometry.
