Set of 12 Neo-Gothic Medieval Style Iron Wall Sconces with Parchment Shades

About the Item

This matched set of 12 Neo-Gothic style wrought iron wall sconces provides for some truly unique decorating opportunities. Medieval-themed game (of Thrones) room or elegant Spanish villa style living and dining space? Touches of contrasting Brutalist intervention on the walls of a pure white loft, or the pitch perfect lighting scheme for a long stone stairway descending, and descending. Let these "torches" lead the way to inspiration. During the 1950s and 60s the Spanish metalworking firm Ferro Art created a variety of wrought iron lighting, some taking design influences from the past. The overall form of these lamps says "Middle Ages" but the special detailing of sewn parchment shades and actual dripped candle wax around the sockets add touches of tangible authenticity. This 12 light set is being sold in "as is" condition. Each lamp and shade has marks and defects associated with its age, and for safety and building code reasons, they will have to be re-wired before installation. I have uploaded pictures of all 12 lights, and I am happy to provide further pictures and answer any questions at all.

Copper containers of varying shapes and sizes have been used in Spanish homes and kitchens for many centuries. Copper and its alloys were particularly popular metals for storing and preparing foodstuffs, not only because they were they durable, but because these metals exhibited natural antibacterial properties. This particular jug, most likely made for the storage and serving of liquids such as water or milk, exhibits strong Hispano-Moresque influences. The baluster shape, symmetrical wing-like handles, and fitted, domed lid all reference Spanish Arab...
