Set of Four 19th Century Regency Carved Ebonized & Gilt Lions Head Wall Lights

About the Item

Lions can be found on English heraldry and in sculptures as a symbol of national heritage. Four lions are stand guard at the base of Nelson's Column in Trafalgar Square. If you walk past Number 10 Downing Street you will spot a Lion head brass door knocker, these are often found on traditional Georgian Townhouses. This set of four wall lights are original Regency hand carved ebonized gilt wood. The circular lions feature wonderfully detailed faces and retain their original gilding. Each with two arms recently electrified and re-wired to take SES/E14 candle bulbs.
