Architectural table lamp in travertine and brass, Belgium, 1970s.
This well sized and very heavy table lamp shows a modern, timeless design. Its stunning base was made in travertine, with a brass element on top holding the light bulb socket. The fabric shade is original and in very good condition. The subtle tapering shape of the shade beautifully contrasts to the straight lines of the base, and has a warm light spread.
The luxurious design of its base strongly reminds of the famous work of Carlo Scarpa. Due to the cascade shape of the base, this high quality lamp has a strong architectural appearance and will be a statement piece in your interior. It is very timeless and could therefore be placed in a wide array of interior styles.
