Art Deco Illuminated Alabaster Flapper Sculpture signed Prof Libero Grimigni

About the Item

This playful and materially stunning Art Deco Draped Flapper Sculpture with Illuminated Flame Base in Olive, White, and Pink Alabaster is by the artist Prof Libero Gremigni and originates from Italy, Circa 1930. Features a dancing female figure in contrapposto with the right arm elevated, beautifully tilting the shoulders and allowing a sculpted shall to drape down the arm and around the torso of the muscled and vibrant flapper, then falling off her hips and elegantly meeting the surface of the illuminated base. All elements of the piece are rendered with splendid attention to detail and realism, from the calm and whimsical expression on the dancer to the fringe of her shall just barely touching the flamed base, to the base itself with beautifully abstracted tongues of flame tightly rendered moving upwards across the rounded surface. The base is illuminated internally, casting a dramatic light and revealing the form of the figure. The sculpture is formed in three distinct stone elements, white alabaster composing the uppermost part of the danger's torso, then transitioning to green alabaster for the remainder of the figure and shall, with a base in beautiful pink Alabaster. Signed on the edge of the flamed base "Prof Libero Gremigni", this piece is newly rewired to American Standards and accommodates one Candelabra base bulb casting up to 60 Watts of light.
