Art Nouveau Silvered C.G. Hallberg Lamp. Around 1900.

About the Item

A beautiful Art Nouveau or Jugend lamp made by C. G. Hallberg in the early years of the 1900´s. Signed. It's in good condition and working. Rewired. The company C. G. Hallberg was founded in 1860 by jeweler Carl Gustaf Hallberg in Stockholm. The company was taken over in 1874 by the court jeweler Jean Jahnsson who further developed it. Carl Gustaf Hallberg died in 1880.. In 1896, Hallberg expanded and changed their business with the aim of supplying a large number of independent goldsmith shops within the country with wholesale goods and also exporting. In the same year, Hallbergs Gold was appointed Royal Court supplier. At the end of the 19th century, Hallbergs Guld was Stockholm's largest jeweler with several branches around Sweden. In 1889 and a few years later, the company had its own store in Paris in the Palais Royal. In 1896, a large factory was built at Bergsgatan 29-31 on Kungsholmen in Stockholm. Here, everything from high-class gold diadems with diamonds to coffee sets in nickel silver was produced. In addition to supplying a large number of independent gold shops as a wholesaler, they built up a chain of their own gold shops in the country and in 1961 had close to 50 shops.
