About the Item

Blue table lamp, no. 1036 by Einar Johansen for Søholm Stentøj in the 1960s - gorgeous glazed table light with blue nuances and vintage white shade included. This table lamp is part of a Series, called EJ64 or the Blue Series by Einar Johansen. The series was the first ever home decor stoneware Series produced at Soholm and became one of their greatest selling successes. As all pieces in the Series, this too is decorated with repetitively triangular shapes and covered with a wonderful blue toned glazed, designed by Svend Aage Jensen. The blue glaze spans over dark blue to light blue with hints of the underlying brown, almost golden tones. The neck is covered with sandy matte black finish, which makes for beautiful contrast to the glossy glaze on the body. The white pleated plastic shade, shown in the photos is included, is not original to the lamp-Stand, but contemporary and truly complements the glaze without taking any focus off the lamp-Stand. With its stylish expression it would easily fit in everywhere in the modern home - on a lamp table in a corner of a sitting area, welcoming guest in a hallway on a dresser or even as bedside lamp. Underneath hallmarked Søholm Stentøj, Denmark, the signature of Einar Johansen (the designer behind several lights for Søholm in the period 1958-1968), and numbered 1036. Beautiful vintage table lamp in excellent vintage condition - no cracks or chips. The shade, which is included, is in very good vintage condition with few normal signs of usage and age. Please see the photos! All original, but rewired with 1,5 m (4' 11.1") white plastic cord and fitted Euro-style two-pin plug - which can be fitted with a plug adapter, or is easily changed to your specific plug. Original on/off switch on the bulb socket. Tested and fully functional. Cleaned, labeled and packed in protective bag. Light source: One bulb, Edison screw-fitting (E27/E26) Max 60 Watt.
