About the Item

Interesting and refined pair of table lamps in Bohemian crystal; on a brass structure are inserted the various components; from the base in the shape of a cap departs the central body, at the top is placed a "bobeche", on its edge have been fixed manually faceted crystal rosettes to which are attached massive crystals, cut in the shape of an arrow in a perfect and elaborate way; higher up there is a flared element that contains the terminal part of the electrical system with fake candle; the oval lampshade in ivory and black color is made of Pongee, a fine, thin, opaque, or shiny silk fabric produced in linen weave, because of its rustling luster it is used for home furnishings, upholstery, and garments; it was also employed since the early 20th century by many mills along the banks of the Yangtze in China. The two lamps were made in France between 1948 and 1950 using Bohemian crystals, crystals with very high percentages of lead that are higher than normal crystals. The very ancient history of Bohemian crystal has not prevented this splendid material from reaching us, still full of its own charm and refinement. The objects made with this crystal, in fact, represent what is most precious and sought-after in this region, and not only thanks to the mastery of the artisans but also, and above all, thanks to the unique characteristics of this material. The delicacy and lightness of the shapes, the precision of the details, and the particular workmanship are accompanied in Bohemian crystal by unique transparency, brightness, and resistance. In this way and for these characteristics the objects made with this crystal are considered refined and precious objects, perfect to enrich luxury homes and to embellish every environment. Our lamps are accompanied by the classic and rare medallion of guarantee on which is engraved the anchor bow and wording that attests to the authenticity and origin of the crystal with which the lamps were created. The beauty of the two lamps reaches its maximum when they are turned on: the light is able to emphasize the reflections and colors given by the different transparent and faceted crystal pendants; two objects full of charm and refinement that can decorate entrance furniture, illuminate a room or serve as abat-jour. The lamps are in perfect condition, only one crystal of a lamp has been replaced (see photos), but as it is located on the back is not visible and does not disturb at all the overall aesthetics of the object. Warning: the electrical system is new but the wiring is European, the compatibility of the voltage in other states must always be verified by an electrician before use.
