English 19th Century Cream Glazed Stoneware Water Filter Made into a Wired Lamp

About the Item

An English Victorian period glazed stoneware water filter from the 19th century, made into a new table lamp wired professionally for the US and mounted on a round lucite base. Created in England under the reign of Queen Victoria in the 19th century, this stoneware water filter features a cream colored glaze accented with applied banners adorned with the words Prize Medal, Trade Mark and Improved Rapid Water Filter Manufactured by the Boston Filter Company England, as well as a coat of arms, cornucopias and foliage. The lower section showcases the spigot from which the water was poured. The top presents a lid from which springs a single socket while the ensemble has been recently mounted on a lucite base whose transparent quality complements the cream glaze beautifully. Professionally wired for the US, this English Victorian glazed stoneware water filter made into a table lamp will bring a discreet touch of elegance to any home, placed on a side table, buffet or commode.
