Gold straw marquetry table lamp with some colorful inserts in a brass base. Natural, red and bronze straw. Straw and marquetry, matter and technique: As early as the 17th century straw marquetry is used in furniture, bimbeloterie, the 20th century is added interior decoration. A marquetry is a veneer on a support with a collage edge to edge the straw is split to the nail, then crushed with a wooden pliers and glued. There is a general no waxing or other primer, the material to such brilliance that it is rarely worthwhile to extinguish it.
