RARE MCM ICON! MOSS FIBERGLASS REFLECTOR SHADE AND CONE TABLE LAMP! (APPROX. 17" TALL By 15" WIDE ) Here is the famous MOSS fiberglass lamp with a cone and reflector design. It is one of the most coveted MOSS lamps for its comparative restraint and timeless design! This reflector lamp is the epitome of modern illumination thought circa 1945-1955! Designers were experimenting with ways to create *indirect lighting* because studies illustrated this was better for the eyes. The MOMA Lighting Design competition of 1951 would almost exclusively showcase designs that were based on reflection technology. This beautiful lamp features a sweeping brushed brass neck and articulating fiberglass shade reflector. The black enameled cone is complemented by a matching black decorative trim on the base. It is in very fine vintage condition. It has light age-appropriate wear. It presents splendidly, This lamp creates a warm cozy space in any interior. Moss lamps were more about mood than function.
