Haico Nitzsche was trained in ceramics in his homeland, Germany before teaching at the National Institute of Design in Ahmedabad, India in 1968-70. Nitzsche was a leading creator of ceramic art-forms in Denmark in the 1970s and was the technical leader and designer at Søholm from 1974 to 1982. His work still stands out as functional items with a strong sculptural essence, and at present Nitzsche's artistic efforts are used as a sculptor. Nitzsche now lives and works in Norway and his work has been exhibited all across Europe.
