About the Item

An intriguingly iridescent pair of blue ceramic lamps by Lotte and Gunnar Bostlund. Canada, 1960s. Sterling examples of the Bostlunds' work in pristine condition, exhibiting exceptional chatoyancy in the glaze. The Danish couple began producing their line of ceramic lamps in Canada after fleeing Europe during World War II. These original jute and fiberglass shades were developed by their son, Morten, while he was still in his early 20s. Dimensions: 9.5" D x 16.5" H (to top of shade). Bases are 6.85" D.
