Mid Century Danish Modern Silver Plate Oil Lamp Adjustable Shade Glass Insert
About the Item
A beautifully constructed mid 20th Century Danish Modern oil lamp for the table in an antique style. The silver plate finish has been hand polished recently. Starting from the top, there is a lovely circular finial type of hardware that could presumably be used to carry the lamp from place to place if you so desire. There is then the flared conical shade that fits nicely around the cylindrical glass insert to protect the flame of the oil lamp. The weighted base also exhibits a flared conical shape to compliment the shade design. The apparatus to contain the oil is also cylindrical in shape and is attached to the upright rod securing the aforementioned parts. The adjustable shade can be raised or lowered to suit your needs. While I have not attempted to light the wick, I do see it present.
