Nederland Faience Miniature Milk Jug to the Cat Delft, Late 19th Century
About the Item
Faience Ceramic milk pot from Delft Manufactures.
Netherlands, circa 1880.
On one side of the milk jug, a boat is represented and on the other side
Faithful to the tradition of the Delft factories, a mill is painted. The endearing detail of this miniature object is that the handle is replaced by a cat who wishes to drink the milk contained in the jar. The animal is reproduced in a very realistic way: one can even observe his gaze watching that his master does not surprise him.
