neo Classical Meissen style snake handled urn lamp blanc de chine

About the Item

Exceptionally detailed down to the scales of the serpents, minimalist in its blanc-de-chine glaze, the details of snakes and neo classical ornamentation create a clever sleekness in its charm. Placed on an ornate brass lion and paw base. A wonderful single, strong enough to dominate a table space alone. I have not taken the lamp apart to look for porcelain stamps. This style (with snake handles) is most often attributed to Meissen.
