These monumental cork table lamps are beautiful! In the mid century, after WWII, cork and other woods were now able to be utilized in home furnishings.
Designers sought to provide textural richness with cork in many environments. Cork appeared as a flooring as early as 1947 in mid century designer homes and quickly spread to walls, ceilings and other furnishings. Eichler homes picked up this cue and it became a staple in the most modern and upscale homes. Likewise, cork lamps were now
a status symbol of those who acquired contemporary furnishings and decor.
This pair have superb eye appeal and are complemented all around with natural cork patina that has developed over time from the bark's oils. Both lamps have incredible wood texture and color details! Lamps are in fine vintage condition and display beautifully!
Superb white burlap shades adorn these lamps and add perfect proportions and line. These cork lamps have a warm, timeless elegance and their simplicity of form and design lends them to embrace all manner of interior decor schemes.
