Pair of French 19th Century Louis XVI Style Patinated Bronze and Ormolu Lamps
About the Item
A stunning and large-scale pair of French 19th century Louis XVI st. patinated bronze and ormolu lamps. Each lamp is raised on wonderfully scrolled ormolu feet, supporting the black Belgian marble base with mottled borders and scrolled movements. The patinated bronze urns have ormolu wreaths at the base topped with foliate designs. The Greek key shaped ormolu handles are joined with a draped swag adorned with a central rosette. At the back is an ormolu band with a running wave design below the fluted neck and top cap.
