Gorgeous pair of Mid-Century French Riviera style table lamps made in curved rattan and hand-woven wicker. These fantastic lamps were made in France during the 1960s and are attributed to the mastery of Louis Sognot. The lamps are a clear example of organic craftsmanship and design from the 1960s, made in a spectacular mix of rattan and wicker with perfect proportions. The round lampshade is decorated in curved rattan and enriched by a fantastic work of hand-woven wicker. It is completed inside by a parchment-like material that makes them spectacular when lit. The base of the lamps is made by three legs in curved rattan enriched with wicker. Fully original and in spectacular conditions, these stunning lamps are a must have for all the French Riviera style lovers. They come wired and tested, compatible with both US and EU standards, they use a single E14 light bulb. This pair of items will be perfect for a midcentury living room or to complete a porch through their elegance and harmony. Dimensions (cm): Diameter - 18 Height - 26 Louis Sognot was a French designer best known for his elegant furniture made from a combination of rattan and wood. Sognot was influenced by Art Deco and Cubist aesthetics, giving his work a unique stylistic flair while also being usable. Born on May 25, 1892 in Paris, France, Sognot studied at the École Bernard-Pablissy before working as a designer at the Au Printemps department store in Paris in 1919. The designer went on to become a founding member of the Union des Artistes Decoroteurs. He died in 1970 in Paris, France.
