PAIR Old Paris Porcelain Urns
About the Item
The generic term of "Old Paris" refers to late 18th - early 19th century French hard paste porcelain inspired by Sevres and discussed in "World Ceramics" by R. Charleston, page 242-245. There were a large number of porcelain factories situated in Paris and in the country round about. In the late 18th and early 19th century, they all worked in the Louis XVI and Empire style with designs copied and shared between them. Generally, a hard paste formula was used allowing for crisp modeling of classic and elegant designs. (Restorations to handle)
