Sculptural Table Lamp Mezquite Wood Flexible Linen Shade
About the Item
MEZQUITE table lamp was designed for the De Palo collection by Mexican artist Isabel Moncada.
When burnt using the Japanese technique Shou sugi ban, the wood grains become apparent and the cracks randomly appear in the solid trunk. Mezquite's beauty is achieved through its imperfections. It uses a low-watt LED light that lasts up to 18 years and saves 90% of energy consumption.
Turned pine wood base with burnt finish and flexible lampshade made with natural linen fabric. The linen shade can be disassembled to be dry-cleaned and steamed to remove wrinkles.
All of Isabel Moncada's lighting is UL (Underwriters Laboratories) certified, which ensures a high standard of safety and quality.

Isabel Moncada is a Mexican designer and artist who specializes in the design of lighting and utilitarian art made in her own workshop in Mexico. Through exploring and finessing traditional manufacturing techniques, Isabel has developed her own mechanisms and transformed materials to develop her designs and engrave her personal style.

Art meets design and function when Peter Glassford and Isabel Moncada, a Texan artist and a Mexican designer began exploring the fields of furniture and lighting in the 90’s. Together, they established their workshop Glassford Moncada in 2016 in Guadalajara, Jalisco; thriving in a strategic region where art, tradition and craftmanship merged together with their exquisite taste and ideas.
