Exceptional double plexiglass shades large table lamp
by Peter Ghyczy for Mega Watt (MT)
1980s Netherlands
Very high quality.
Base is made of solid brass.
Chrome body and legs
The base is stamped with the Ghyczy mark.
Lampshade made of plexiglass
Fully functional.
Original cable and plug. This lamp is suitable for EU plug socket. Switch on/off on the base.
Lamp is in very good vintage condition.
Wear consistent with age and use
This lamp works with halogen bulbs.
Suitable to use with 220V and 110V in all countries.

About Peter Ghyczy:
Peter Ghyczy (born 1 December 1940 in Budapest) is a German designer of Hungarian origin, who lives in the Netherlands.
Peter Ghyczy designed numerous lamps, for example the series MegaWatt and the table lamp MW 17, a curved, balanced tabular steel Rohr; another "frameless" construction - an idea, which resembles a famous piece in design history, the "legless" "Freischwinger" presented by Mart Stamm and Ludwig Mies van der Rohe in 1927. Peter Ghyczy often used cast metal parts. This methode derives from his early experiences with plastic castings.
In 1974 Peter Ghyczy moved his company Ghyczy Selection to the Netherlands. In 1985 it moved to Swalmen, where it remains until today.
