True Pair Of French 19th Century Louis XV St. Rosso Antico And Ormolu Lamps
About the Item
A stunning and finely detailed true pair of French 19th century Louis XV st. Rosso Antico and Ormolu lamps. Each asymmetrical urn mounted into a lamp is raised by a pierced Ormolu base with scrolling acanthus leaves and berried foliate designs. The base is supported by five additional scrolling acanthus leaf feet below. Above the base is a mottled edged pedestal with flowing garment decorations which supports the body of each exquisite lamp. The Rosso Antico marble body is flanked by designs similar to the base with a male's profile and berried acanthus leaves as hair. Behind the two male profiles on each lamp are the handles decorated by scrolling acanthus leaves.
