About the Item
Spectacular, one-of-a-kind piece of ceramic art. Mid-Century Modern handmade sung glazed voluptuous ceramic art table lamp by Danish experimental artist Bodil Marie Nielsen. A beautiful example of Nielsen's characteristic process which included drilling holes and adding decorations with tires and other items to create a new, unique feel and look to the ceramic material. The light grey neck of the hand decorated lamp is smooth, while the rich sung glaze of the body runs down and around all the different types of sculpted ornaments, perforations and textures. The base stamped "Bodil Marie Nielsen" and "Denmark". Manufactured in the 1960s. In beautiful vintage condition.
