About the Item

Fanciful art glass lamps in the form of mushrooms were made in the islands of Murano, Italy during the 1960s. This one features an uncommon almond or bisque color and a rare large size. Two independently controlled bulbs -- one in the top, the other in the base. Please note that the lovely tobacco color at the edges is an optical illusion; the glass is all one color. For accuracy, you can see a faint swirly pattern toward the back when the lamp is illuminated. Some of these lamps were made with a pronounced swirly pattern. From the front, though, the overall impression is that there is no pattern. A few important notes about all items available through this 1stdibs dealer: 1. We list all our items as being in "good" condition with "wear consistent with age and use," even when they may be viewed subjectively as being in "very good" or "excellent" condition. If we have had an item restored or polished, we always ask our specialists to make it look "old but well cared for" rather than "new." Most people prefer vintage items to have some patina, or what we like to call "attractive defects." However, if you would prefer an item to look new, please let us know. We may be able to have it polished further for an additional charge. 4. 1stdibs shipping quotes tend to be the best. While there are rare circumstances when we may be able to beat them -- and we can almost always get it to you faster for an additional charge -- usually we cannot ship it for less.
