Vintage 1980s Black Ceramic Barrel Large Glaze Table Lamp
About the Item
The geometric feel and sheer size of this vintage black overlaid pottery and fabric table lamp is impressive. It is the epitome of statement lighting and will become an immediate design asset in many settings. Features like the shape and high glaze make it unique and worth the price.
But it is still a bit of a mystery. The look is circa 1980. It came from an auction estate sale with a collection of Italian lighting, but this particular piece is not marked. Our appraiser feels it is of Italian manufacture.
It is of circular section, the white fabric body with an overlaid black glazed pottery "grid", with pinched collar and a tall stepped foot. Surmounted by a cylindrical shade. The overall condition of this lamp is very good, with its high glaze and contrasting white fabric squares. There are no scratches or cracks. The cord is original, however, and it is showing signs of wear. There is also a flaw on an area of the drum shade, which we also believe is original. This precious piece will be delivered via in home shipping to ensure it arrives at its destination intact.
