Walnut Veneer Table Lamp #4 with Blackened Bronze Frame

About the Item

The walnut veneer lamp #4 is part of the original Lehrecke Veneer Lighting Collection from 1998. The idea began with the beautiful way light came through thin wood veneers, many being local woods. The walnut has a beautiful dark brown color typical of the black walnut wood from the Northeastern part of the United States. It is the darkest of woods used in the veneer collection, though it sheds less light it is a beautiful red brown color in the evenings, and still very good for reading with the LED equivalent of a 75W bulb. The walnut base is turned in the studio on a wood lathe, and all of the metal parts are blackened bronze. Measures: shade 8" D x 10 H lamp 8" D x 23 H.

The lantern #5 comes from a collection of lanterns Lehrecke designed in 2002 with ten versions and a number of veneer options. The influence was traditional Japanese and has a contemporary metal frame which the veneer shade slides over. The veneers are carefully collected from large logs so that the shades can be made in single flitches and the resulting glow coming through the shades is serene. Ten sizes of the lantern are all available from Chris Lehrecke in a variety of veneers (limited by the height of the lantern in some instances.) The #5 Lantern...
