Early 19th Century French Empire Convex Mirror
About the Item
A stunning early 19th century French Empire mahogany framed convex mirror with a thin gilt bronze laurel wreath trim. Unlike most convex mirrors that are domed, this mirror has a flatter dome that curved back close to the edges. Convex mirrors originally hung on the walls of dining rooms and were used by footmen to observe the progression of the meal without watching the table directly. Today they're perfect for adding a little sparkle and magic to any room you'd like.
