Italian Mid-19th Century Neoclassical Style Rosewood and Giltwood Mirror
About the Item
A handsome and high quality Italian mid 19th century neo-classical st. rosewood and giltwood mirror. The mirror plate is set within a beautiful and most decorative mottled giltwood band with striking palmettes designs. Leading up each side are impressive architectural columns showcasing the stunning rosewood grain and displaying mottled plinths and superb ionic capitals. At the top are richly carved pierced palmettes and intricate foliate giltwood designs below a Fine Coeur de Rai band. All original gilt throughout.
