Monumental Italian Regency Gilt Faux Bamboo Floor Mirror
About the Item
Grand 20th century Hollywood Italian Regency floor mirror made on a monumental scale. The mirror features a 5.5 inch thick wood frame hand-carved by Italian artisans with faux bamboo poles bundled together with faux rope strapping. The frame was crafted in old world traditional craftsmanship with a red lacquered base on the carved wood and then gold leaf was applied. The finish has an intentionally aged patina with lacquer showing through to mimic an 18th-century period piece. The frame has a high-quality thick beveled mirror plate inset. This statement mirror is very heavy and solid with excellent joinery and craftsmanship. From an estate in Bel Air, CA.
