Rococo Girandole Meissen Mirror in Enameled Porcelain and Crushed Velvet

About the Item

Baroque / Rococo girandole mirror / candelaria combo in Meissen enameled porcelain and gray crushed velvet. My wild guess is that the mirror portion is Viennese or German circa late 1800s and was later (perhaps about a century later, circa 1970s) mounted on the gray velvet portion. A true antique work of art with pastel flourishes, gilded details, and an expertly carved cherubine figure delighting in a bowl of porridge (slide 7). The ultimate selfie mirror and a fin de siècle masterpiece. Minor signs of age to mirror but otherwise flawless condition. Measures: 22.5” diameter X 5” depth.
