The entire frame of this organic Arts & Crafts mirror is a feast of branches with marvelous, hand carved leafs and leaf buds. Hiding or resting amongst the branches and leafs are small animals and they are like the cherry on the proverbial cake. Since mirrors are particularly difficult to capture in a photo, we can tell and promise you that this one of a kind antique is so much better in real life than in our images. Only when looking at this antique in person can you truly take in the beauty of its design, its striking details and its marvellous patina. Apart from one minor restauration to the non-carved, lower left corner this piece is completely original and in near perfect condition. The original mirror too is in superb condition. One of the reasons why this antique survived in such amazing condition, is because the artisan who created this gem chose a top quality nutwood of two inches thick. We have not been able to find a maker's mark or signature, but this can only be the work of one of the greats from the Arts & Crafts era, because this is the kind of workmanship, quality, class and beauty that you find in museums.
