A Fabulous 19th Century Giltwood Overmantel Mirror
About the Item
A fabulous finely hand carved 19th Century giltwood mirror of grand proportions and exceptional quality. The shaped mercury mirror glass plate of rectangular form is set within an intricately carved, panelled and moulded giltwood frame flanked with a pair gorgeous barley twist column borders with foliate detail, surmounted with a shaped architectural top with stylised gadroon moulded detail and a centred arrangement of decorative foliate and acanthus leaves. The shaped platform base with a further stunning pierced arrangement of acanthus leaves, foliate, c and s scroll motif detail to each side.
