Gorgeous 19th Century Brass Mounted Giltwood Overmantle Mirror
About the Item
A gorgeous 19th century brass mounted giltwood overmantle mirror, The bevelled mirror glass plate of shaped, rectangular form is set within a stunningly hand carved, moulded giltwood frame with canted, reeded sides with ribbon detail, the frieze with centred foliate detail flanked with flowerhead paterae motifs to the top corner returns. Surmounted with a centred, pierced crest composition, finely carved in high relief, comprising of an arrangement of Neoclassical motifs, a wreath, quiver of arrows, flaming torch, trailing foliate, ribbon and bow detail, flanked with two elegant acorn finials.
