A William and Mary Black and Gilt-Japanned and Polychrome-painted pier glass Circa 1689-1702, The flower painting in the manner of Jean-baptiste Monnoyer.
The plates and decoration original.
Measures: 78 x 29.25in. (198 x 74.5cm).
Provenance
Probably the Capel-Cure family, Badger hall, Shropshire, house sale 1945, lot 682, £40.
Bought on commission by Clarkson of Wolverhampton for
Sir Edward Thompson, Gatacre Park, Bridgworth, Shropshire and by descent with the Thompson family at Gatacre Park.
