This is the 'Cammei Marbalia' (Marbled Cameos in Italian) mirror by Piero Fornasetti, signed on the back with the Fornasetti label, is a gorgeous collectors piece ideal for the interior designer looking for the perfect unique splash of fun and intrigue. This mirror features gold Cameos over a white and black marble motif and has been completely restored, the frame has been re-lacquered with a protective French Polish clear coat. Such an incredible piece of Maison Jansen history, this large and unique French Rococo style parcel-gilt mirror depicting a hand-painted Chinoiserie scene was authenticated by Maison Jansen historian and author James Archer Abbott, a digital image of his authentication letter to be provided upon sale. Described in James Archer's letter: "The exceptional c. 1940-1950 Chinoiserie-style lacquered frame with mirrored glass insert is characteristic of that firm's (Maison Jansen) finest work. This rather monumental mirror - or looking glass - is consistent with Jansen's concern for the finest quality of finish - particularly masterfully applied lacquer.
