An Exceptional Quality And Unusually Large Mid 19th Century Flemish Ebonised And Brass Repousse, Ripple Cushion, Marginal Mirror, Of Rectangular Form, Having Large Central Bevelled Mirror Plate Surrounded By Foliate Borders And Further Mirror Plates. The term Flemish refers to antique furniture and accessories made in the Northern European region of Flanders, no more commonly known as Belgium and The Netherlands. This mirror is of typical design and style for many we have seen in that region, however the scale of it is extremely unusual and a really spectacular feature, we have certainly never seen one this large. The cresting with two cherubs supporting a cartouche, and seated upon displaying eagles. The base centred by a grotesque mask typical of this early period.
