Superb large 19th Century faux tortoise shell and ebonised overmantle wall mirror, reflecting exquisite quality.
This enchanting and uncommon mirror distinguishes itself as a delightful and rare discovery, offering a distinctive touch that sets it apart.
A noteworthy find, this mirror would introduce a striking element to the right location. The construction is robust, featuring no loose joints or signs of woodworm.
The mirrored glass, displaying very light oxidation and minor age-related imperfections, remains in good condition. Maximum dimensions are 79cm in height, 57cm in width, and 4cm in depth, with mirrored glass measuring 59cm in height and 37cm in width.
The frame is in good antique condition, retaining its original finish. Minor historic knocks, marks, losses, wear, imperfections, and evidence of repairs contribute to its authentic character. Some alterations, refinishing, and careful touching up enhance its historical charm. Stock No. 8449.
