Clara Jorisch is a designer and craft(wo)man from Montreal with a sculptural approach to everyday objects and questions functional imperatives. She creates unique pieces that stem from seemingly useless ideas, and encourage new ways of interaction with our familiar surroundings. Her work is characterized by its organic forms, artisanal techniques, and exploration of the plastic possibilities of materials.
In recent years, her work was presented at Jack Chiles Gallery (New York), Verlee Verbeken (New York), Verso (Bridge Hamptons), Salon Design Us (New York), Wanted Design ICFF (New York), Center Phi (Montreal), Biosphere (Montreal), Uqam Design Center (Montreal). She was recently named one of Dwell magazine’s 24 Uprising Designers 2023.
