He represents the French scene of modern furniture having designed more than 3000 creations during his career. He started his creative path at Ruhlmann ( A French Art-Deco Furniture designer ) after graduating from the University of Boulle in Paris. Maxime Old’s career lies on the years where there were big changes happening in the interior architecture : from Art Deco to Bauhaus and from Bauhaus finally to Modernisme. He founded his own atelier very soon and began to work in interior architecture upon request from the upper class clients ; his Paquebot Collection for French Ocean-Liners, the City Hall of Rouot, the Hotel Marhaba in Casablanca and eventually the Airport in Marseille. Today the Anne Jacquemin Sablon gallery edits the originals designs of Maxime Old that are no longer produced. The pieces produced are therefore the first editions based on the drawings from between the 1940s and 1980s.
