George II Giltwood Framed Mirror
About the Item
18th century George II giltwood mirror featuring beveled edges and mounted in a gilt frame. Allover carved with scrolling acanthus leaves on a mottled or sanded ground. Geometric-carved border, surmounted by an acanthus-carved broken arch pediment centered by a foliate cartouche with scallop shell decoration. The apron is decorated with further scrolling acanthus and scallop shell carving. The gilt finish with a nice old mellow patina.
