German 18th Century Neo-Classical Period Burl Walnut, Giltwood and Mecca Mirror
About the Item
An exceptional and very unique German 18th century neo-classical period burl Walnut, giltwood, and Mecca mirror. The mirror retains its original mirror plates each framed within a most decorative beaded wrap around giltwood band. The frame showcases the beautiful burl Walnut wood grain with superb swaging giltwood fabric garlands at the base. Above the arch shaped top is the striking pierced top crown with richly carved foliate designs, acanthus leaves, and berries centering a charming basket of flowers on a pedestal. All original gilt throughout.
