Italian Neoclassical Carved Giltwood Double Headed Eagle Mirror
About the Item
Italian made magnificent carved giltwood mirror frame in the form of a crowned bicephal eagle. Highly decorative frames with double-headed eagles surmounted by a crown, symmetric wings and tails holding the central circular mirror and the bird claws holding a ball. The perimeter of the glass mirror is decorated by a leafed pattern. These hand carved wood mirrors were gilded with gold leaf, they have beautifully carved details and a nice aged patina.
