Large 19th Century Italian Hand Carved Mirror

About the Item

A large Italian Rococo carved gilt wood mirror. Having a rectangular vertical glass frame with a hand carved crested top formed by leaf, floral, and scroll motifs. Featuring pierced carving, creating a symmetrical frame, and a pleasant overall patina. The mirror is made of bevel plate glass, and is a 19th Century replacement of the original. With the original antique finish, with losses only having traces of gilding with the original clay gesso visible. Minor loss, repair, and touch up (please see detail photos). Circa 1820s.
