Large Italian Gilt and Painted Frame with Antiqued Mirror Plate

About
This extravagant frame in carved wood and plaster from Italy has as its surface treatment raised gold leaf decorative corners and central cartouches with the lower sections in a painted faux porphyry. The entire mirror frame has then been antiqued after it's leafing and painting to give it a 17th century feeling. The glass has an antique appearance with light spotting to the mercury silvering also to give the mirror an antique feeling.
