Large Rococo Style Venetian Glass Wall Mirror
About the Item
An elegant Venetian Glass wall mirror. Handmade in Venice in the 1960s
It shows an array of delicate glass embellishments, which have been carefully arranged around an octagonal-shaped frame.
The central mirror is encompassed by 8 panels of venetian mirror; which have been finely etched with delicate rococo style motifs; Each panel delicately held in place with a small glass flower. Edged with thin, twisted rods of crystal-clear Murano glass sitting perfectly between flowing glass scrolls finished with a glass crown and highlighted with luminous pink flowers.
A wonderful play between shape and texture which creates a frame glistening and twinkling with light.
This wonderful venetian mirror is in good condition for its age; all Murano glass elements still intact with only x2 glass stud nails being replaced. The mirror has oxidised in some areas - but this really only adds to the depth and mystique of this beautiful piece.
