Mid Century Modern Vintage Gold Metal Oval Wall Mirror Flowers Roses 1950 Italy Mid Century Modern vintage oval wall mirror made of gold-colored metal with flowers and leaves, Italy, 1950s. Beautiful and graceful frame with flowers and leaves in gold color in elliptical shape with mirror glass. Easy to hang with a loop. We especially love this oval wall mirror for its magical touch. The condition is very good with some minor signs of age. The Italians excel at creating beautiful pieces that are decoratively painted and gilt enameled metalwork. This beautiful mirror is topped by a number of flowers and leaves and ribbon motif, or festoon. This motif has its origins when representations of natural flowers were hung above an entrance doorway or around an altar on holidays. Such beauty combined with this kind of character is hard to find. It would make a beautiful piece in the entrance of a home or perhaps at the end of a hallway. It is in overall good condition with an original cardboard backing providing structure and support.
