Mid-Century Modernist Mirror in Gilt Eglomise w/ Antiqued Smoked Border

About the Item

This elegant and materially dynamic Mid-Century Modernist Mirror in Gilt Eglomise With Antiqued Smoked Border originates from the United States, Circa 1950. Features an oval form central pane of plain mirror lined with a stip of gilt eglomise seperating the central panel from the smoked and antiqued mirrored section of the border. Each corner is detailing with winding natural motifs in gilt eglomise, relating materially to the oval strip and beautifully occupying and stimulating the negative space created in each corner by the oval center. The outer edge is then lined in narrow rectangular elements of polished brass, capped at the corners by polished nickel hardware, all attached to a Gilt Wood backing. This piece is full of detail, rewarding longer viewing and creating a truly stunning yet reserved and creative mirror. This piece will Style beautifully in a wide array of spaces and settings, from Mid-Century Modern to Hollywood Regency and Contemporary Interiors. In Excellent Vintage Condition.
